Top Of The Charts- The People Song

If you were around Selisng, Pasir Puteh in the month of March, it would be no surprise if you heard "The People Song". The song was introduced last year during a TPD session by mentor Sara Teale. It started out as just exercise to supplement the KSSR syllabus Chapter 4 Occupations. It quickly grew momentum, with repeat requests from students. The first school to rock it was SK Banggol Pa' Esah Teacher Mohasnizam's  Year 3 Class.  It started out with kids using flashcards of the occupations in the songs. Next, SK Padang Pa Amat's Teacher Zuraida's Year 3A and C classes couldn't get enough it.  Then during one of the numerous repeats, actions were assigned to all the occupations.

The actions stuck, it made it spread like a dance craze. At SK Panggong during a recess, some students from Teacher Ros, Teacher Zailina and Teacher Zuriana's classes crowded the LINUS room while singing and acting out the song numerous times. Teacher Salma and Teacher Suzana's classes were exposed to it on a Thursday before school holiday at SK Bukit Abal.  Teacher Hazura's Year 3 class started humming the tune at SK Kampong Berangan.

Don't think it's restricted to small children, even Teacher Rezwanee's Year 6 class enjoyed it during a break in the UPSR Clinic at SKBA. My favourite part is when the pupils shrug their shoulders and raise their palms upwards and sing,"Hey Brother, What's Going Down?" Beware, the tune is quite catchy.
